Researcher

Xavier Úcar is a full professor of Social Pedagogy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). His specializations are in Social Pedagogy, Design and Evaluation of Community Development Programs and Socio-cultural Animation Programs. He is the president of the “Iberoamerican Society of Social Pedagogy” (SIPS) (2012). He served as the co-director of the collection of books on “Community Action and Social-Educative Action” at the publisher Graó (2006-2013). He was the president of “Coordinator for Socio-cultural Animation of Catalonia” (CASC_CAT) (2009-2014). Member of the research group GIPE of Educative Policies and of the group GPSEJ “Social Pedagogy and Youth Empowerment”.

He has written more than 100 publications including books, book chapters and journal articles.
