Asun Llena has a PhD in Social Pedagogy and works as a professor in the Department of Theory and History of Education at the Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona. She is a member of the Group on Social Pedagogy (GPS) for Social Cohesion and Inclusion and works with topics related to childhood, adolescence and youth, community development, social policy and street work. She was co-director of the Community Action collection of the publisher Graó. She worked as a European expert in Romania for the development of social services from 2003 to 2008. She served on national and international scientific committees on issues related to social pedagogy. Her latest research has dealt with migration in Europe, child participation and community empowerment.
